Renew your annual dog license online

You can now renew your dog license online. The borough has added the ability to renew your license through their website at https://www.cit-e.net/somerville-nj/cit-e-access/Payments-Donations/?TID=118&TPID=11708 It is only for renewals, if you haven’t previously licensed your dog, you must still do it at borough hall. The license fee is $12.00 for neutered dogs or $15.00 for non-neutered dogs in the month of January. The price goes up one dollar each following month. You must also have proof of rabies vaccination. Aladdin and Phoenix playing their own version of the game “Operation” won our Halloween pets costume contest. Bonnie and Beth Abelew submitted the winning photo. The second place winner is Ashley Brown & Kevin Boicourt with their “Corgi Rescue,” an interactive costume with lights that flash. Craft Fair to benefit Rawhide Rescue

A Craft Fair to benefit Rawhide Rescue will be held on Saturday, November 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Finderne Rescue Squad, 476 Union Ave., Bridgewater. Rawhide Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue group in New Jersey. We will have lots of crafters/vendors, food, pumpkin pies, tricky tray and 50/50. Wandering skinny kitty needs a home

This cat is one of the most affectionate cats I’ve ever met, he lives in my neighborhood and greets me everyday when I walk home from work. He loves being petted and if I sit down he will curl up in my lap. He is black and has strikingly beautiful eyes. He is VERY underweight and all of his bones are visible, this poor baby needs a loving home that can nurture him and get him back up to a normal weight. 10-week-old Emma and seven-week-old Angus are looking for a home. They are from a new cat rescue organization in Raritan. Cat Adoption & Pet Information Center’s mission is to find homes for cats and was started by Joan Beard and president Rhonda Baginski. They specialize in trap, neuter and release of strays and are a 501C accredited charity. Emma is a  playful kitten with pretty gray markings. She has had shots and been to the veterinarian. If you lost your pet, or found a stray, let us know and we will let everyone else know too. Just send a picture, a description of the pet and contact information to pets@SomervilleToday.com and we will do the rest. If you don’t want the contact info published let us know and we’ll contact you when someone contacts us. Even if you have a batch of kittens to give away, take a picture and send it off. We also want to see your pet photos. Email them to us with some caption information and we will build a gallery.
