Tuesday’s primary election didn’t yield any surprises in Somerville, especially since there weren’t any contested local races. In the council race on the Republican side, Philip Decker had 235 votes and Jason Kraska had 228. For the Democrats Ken Utter received 209 votes while Jane Kobuta got 205. There are two council seats up for grabs in the November general election. In the 2012 council election Democrats swept the two available positions while in 2011 Republicans took both slots.
