Brawl with inmate sends 3 officers to hospital

Three Somerset County corrections officers were transported to the hospital Monday morning after an inmate attacked them, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. Mubarak Muhammad, 19, of  Elizabeth, has been charged with three counts of third-degree aggravated assault after he punched Somerset County Corrections Officer Michael Petritsch. Former coach Patrick Lott indicted in 91 counts

Former Immaculata High School coach Patrick Lott was indicted by a Somerset County Grand Jury today on 91 counts in connection with video taping students in the school’s showers. Lott, 55, is accused of hiding a video camera in the school gymnasium’s boy shower. A Queens, NY, man was arrested Thursday for selling Viagra and Cialis pills at a Somerville gas station. Police officer dies in motorcycle accident

Somerville police officer Claude Racine died Wednesday night in an off-duty motorcycle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in Jersey City. Racine, 44, had been on the Somerville force for 13 years and was well known for patrolling the borough via motorcycle since 2003. Main St. resident Dominic Ciurelo, 80, died Monday after his car plunged into the Raritan River in Bridgewater. Bridgewater  Police Lt. A Colonia man has been arrested for an attempted car jacking at Somerset Medical Center.
