The Somerville Fire Department Annual Inspection Day is scheduled for Saturday \, October 13.
\nA Fire Department Memorial Service and Inspection st arts at 3 p.m. on the lawn of the Somerville Borough Hall at the Somerville Fire Department Memorial Statue.
\nA parade starts at 4 p.m. at Boro ugh Hall\, continues along Main Street to Bridge Street where a brief memor ial will take place at the 9/11 clock tower at the corner of Bridge and Mai n Streets.
\nThe parade will consist of members of the Somerville Fir e Department\, members of the Somerville Rescue Squad\, Somerville Police D epartment\, Somerville Mayor and Borough Council Members\, Somerset County Police Pipes &\; Drums Band\, Somerville School Bands and visiting area Fire Department Chiefs.
\nThe Somerville Fire Department currently ha s approximately 120 members. The Parade has been a tradition for decades.\n
The various Somerville Fire Department apparatus appearing in the Pa rade are as follows:
\nCentral Hook &\; Ladder Co. #1 100’ Tiller ruck 1)\; E1 = Engine Co. #1 (E1)\; West End Hose Co. #3 (E-3)\; Lincoln Ho se Co. #4 (E-4)\; Special Call Engine (E-2)\; an 1850 Hand Pumper pulled by 8 firemen\; an 1873 Amoskeag Steam Engine which is pulled by 2 horses with a fireman driver and a fireman brakeman\; a 1942 Mack Pumper which was rec ently restored to new condition.
\nSomerville Rescue Squad will also have their ambulances\, rescue trucks and other apparatus.
