Guitarist\, vocalist and s ongwriter\, Peter Mayer has been quietly and steadily building a fervent fo llowing across the country\, stepping outside his role as one of Jimmy Buff ett's Coral Reefers to front his own band\, The Peter Mayer Group. Melding a unique and eclectic writing style\, a distinctive voice\, and virtuoso mu sicianship\, Peter and his band create compelling and accessible music that is electrifying in live performance.
\nEach December\, the Peter May er Group embarks on its holiday tour\, Stars and Promises. These performanc es that kick-off the holiday season have become both a thrilling and meanin gful part of the holiday celebration for many. These performances feature a collection of original and traditional holiday music played by an expanded musical cast. The Stars and Promises Tour has continued to grow\, and will celebrate its fifth season in Somerville this year.

All the artists in this band are incredibly t alented. That is what leads to our success. As word of mouth spreads that t his concert is a New York quality performance for a very reasonable price\, we expect to sell out early.”

\nThe proceeds of the concert will be distributed equally among three local organizations: Middle Earth\, the No rth Branch Reformed Church\, and the United Reformed Church. Middle Earth i s a nonprofit that helps local youth develop into responsible and productiv e community members\, and the agency intends to invest its funding in their youth programs. The two churches will use the funding to invest in social ministries that help local individuals and agencies.
